Open standard
An open format for experiment records
Results are only as useful as the record behind them. We publish an open format so that a team’s experiments can be stored, moved between tools, and checked later, without depending on any one vendor.
Results
The conclusions a team draws, each linked to the runs that support it.
Code and settings
The exact version of the code and the parameters used, so a run can be repeated.
History
Which experiments were tried in what order, including the ones that did not work.
Raw outputs
The logs, metrics and files behind every reported number.
Why it matters
Without a common format, results live in folders, spreadsheets and chat threads, and are hard to hand over, audit or reuse. With one, a colleague, a reviewer or a future team member can open a record and see how a result was produced.
The ARA Commons platform stores every run in this format. The format itself is called Agent-Native Research Artifacts (ARA) and is open: the specification and reference tools are public.
